I am a fully bilingual Registered Clinical Psychologist. I provide assessment, consultation, and psychotherapy to adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management problems, anger management problems, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, as well adjustment to health problems and chronic pain. I also have a special interest in, and extensive experience, in the assessment and treatment of trauma-related disorders including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociative Disorders.
I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy, combining tools from different approaches including insight-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work collaboratively with my clients to set treatment goals and tailor my therapeutic approach to the needs of my clients.

I am a registered clinical psychologist. My training qualifies me to work with adults seeking a variety of mental health services including mood, anxiety and trauma. In addition, I have research and clinical experiences directly related to the field of Oncology and as a result have a strong interest in working with individuals who require psychological support following a cancer diagnosis. Treatment provided will largely come from an interpersonal perspective but also utilize an integrative approach to include other modalities such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy when deemed appropriate.

I am also a certified EMDR therapist since 2008.I have more than 25 years of experience working with adults, children and families. I use an integrative approach that revolves around the client's needs and values which combines perspectives and strategies from humanistic, dynamic, cognitive, systemic and multicultural therapies. Saima achieved her M.Sc. and M.Phil degree in psychology with major in guidance & counseling, clinical psychology and community psychology. She also obtained Ontario graduate certification in Autism and Behavioral Science.
Saima is the author of two books, AUTISM & BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCE (A Comprehensive Book on Autism Spectrum Disorder), and BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS AND STRATEGIES (A Practice Guide to Evidence Based Positive Approaches for Autism Spectrum Disorder). She is also a writer of several articles & editorials and performed research work on various psychological aspects, theories, and techniques. Saima also developed valid and reliable scale for net chatter, Intelligence tests for intermediate level, and achievement tests for post graduate students.
Saima has knowledge of diverse cultures, acknowledges diversity and inclusion and fluent in multiple languages, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi.
Saima has international work experience in psychotherapy, guidance & counseling, teaching, transition planning, and evidence-based interventions to meet the needs of clients. She is expert in psychometrics, needs assessment, clinical intake interviews/ history, developing suitable treatment plans and implementation, psychotherapy, and rehabilitation objectives.
Saima has full Knowledge and sensitivity towards confidentiality and ethics of psychological treatment procedures. She has excellent rapport building skills, effective management abilities, skilled in identifying and use of available resources to support target populations in their mental and physical health, and social well-being. She carefully monitors client’s response towards counseling and intervening factors and evaluates signs of improvement.
Saima has effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and wide range settings and challenging environments. She is efficient in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a range of professional partners, community organizations and support agencies to ensure that services are coordinated and applicable.
